Seminarian Education Fund Appeal – August 1–2, 2026

We are grateful to share the joyful news that the Diocese of Birmingham ordained three new priests on May 30 and will welcome four new seminarians this fall, bringing the total number of men in formation to nineteen.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our diocesan family, more than $2.5 million was raised last year for seminarian formation, including a generous matching gift. These funds help provide the education, spiritual formation, and preparation needed for our future priests.

The Seminarian Education Fund Appeal will take place the weekend of August 1–2, 2026. We invite all parishioners to prayerfully consider supporting this important appeal and to continue praying for an increase in vocations to the priesthood. Together, we can help form the next generation of priests who will faithfully serve the people of the Diocese of Birmingham.

Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and continued support of our seminarians and the future of our Church.

Come and be part of this time of prayer and brotherhood!

Volunteers Needed – Perpetual Chapel Substitutes

Our parish is still looking for volunteers to serve as substitutes for our Perpetual Chapel hours. Substitutes help cover for our adorers when they are unable to attend due to vacations, appointments, or other occasions.

If you are able to help and spend time in prayer in the chapel, please consider signing up as a substitute adorer. Your

support helps ensure our chapel remains a place of continuous prayer.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Mario Alfaro, coordinator of the group, at 256-668-5518

Natural Family Planning (NFP) Resources

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a safe, effective, and natural way for couples to understand and work with God’s design for fertility and family life. NFP methods are based on observing the natural signs of fertility within a woman’s cycle and can be used to achieve or postpone pregnancy without drugs or devices.

The Birmingham Catholic Engaged Encounter website offers trusted information, class options, and resources for couples interested in learning more about NFP.

Whether you are engaged, newly married, or continuing to grow in your marriage, these resources can help deepen communication, respect for life, and marital unity.
